Immune Health Protocols, part 5
Here is the latest entry in a series of blog posts about the Herbal Path staff’s immune strategies for fall!
Elaina’s Fall Protocol
I have a few things I that do as a daily supplement regiment that includes a whole food sourced multi-vitamin; my personal favorite being Mega Food’s Women’s One Daily. I also take Carlson’s Vitamin D 2,000 IU supplement every day increasing to at least 4,000 IU’s as winter approaches.
Another immune supportive product I like to use daily as fall approaches is the Honey Gardens Apitherapy Honey Organic Elderberry Syrup. The product offers support for overall immune health and elderberries are a good source of Vitamin C plus it tastes good being flavored with organic honey. I also take Mega Food’s Mega Flora probiotic daily to also aid with immune and digestive support to ward off flu or cold symptoms.
Another thing I make sure to do is to drink plenty of clean water. I drink at least half of my body weight in water (weight divided by 2 = ounces) each day, which helps with maintaining my energy level. Drinking plenty of water also helps with the following:
- Boosts your immune system and mental clarity
- Aids in digestion, nutrient absorption and elimination
- Helps with circulation
- Aids in removal of toxins from the body
- Helps with skin health
- Regulates body temperature
- Aids in protection and lubrication of joints
- Acts as a natural headache remedy
If I feel like I am coming down with a cold or onset, I like to use Gaia’s Quick Defense, Kare-N-Herbs Kold Kare Andrographis product and for a sore throat Eclectic Institute’s Elder Berry Red Root Throat Spray. The throat spray doesn’t taste bad and it is a great item to carry in your purse or brief case if you travel a lot since it’s an easily portable remedy.
